Mixed live by Bobby Viteritti who was the resident DJ at San Francisco's Trocodero Transfer from 1978 to 1981 ("Trocadero Transfer was considered 12 West's (NYC) sister club. Both had a beautiful Graebar sound system".) . Thanks to the good ol' innanet one can easily find info on Mr. Viteritti. Here's some great articles and interviews with the Bay Area legend.

De La Soul, Live in L.A., 1996

Here's an exceptionally energetic De La performance that I recorded off of the radio pre "Stakes Is High" (Power 106 to be exact shout out to the Baka Boys). There is a short interview at the end of part one, and the show continues again at part two. Sandwiched in the recording is a Redman/Method Man St. Ides commercial and a Beatnuts promo. Enjoy!

Mr. Peabody "The Peabody Trademark Hour #001 w/ Mark, Mike & L-Genius"

Industry insiders associate the name Mr. Peabody with quality, hard to find music. Your favorite DJ's and producers buy their dusties from them ("Disco Spectrum" anyone?). Mr. Peabody the record store has been a Chicago Southside institution for over 15 years - just being in that store for 10 minutes is a lesson in itself!

Most of what Mr. Peabody the DJs play in their sets come from the era spanning from the 70s to 80s and specializing in the obscure, but browsing around their amazing store I also came across a really nice selection of Jazz, old school Hip Hop, and rock 12" singles, so don't base their stock solely on what they play out. Here is the link to the store website. I would imagine the turnover for their stock to be quite quick, so giving them a call or emailing them your want lists might be good idea.

Bobby Franklin's Insanity "Bring It On Down"

Originally produced by Curtis Mayfield and released on the legendary Curtom label (you can really hear it in the flute lines). A couple of decades later "reissued" as a 45 RPM 12" single a couple of years ago by some record store out of New York (a sonically beautiful pressing I might add). Unfortunately this was to be the label's one and only release.

Mr. Franklin currently records and tours sometimes performing as a one man band!
