Stretch & Bobbito August 07 1997

I've always felt that the independent scene in the mid 90s is an often overlooked and under appreciated era of hip hop, so I've decided to digitize my radio show and mixtape cassettes in order to preserve and help document that period of time. Most of my tapes are not labeled, so the uploads will be pretty random. Here's the first of the bunch.

Dj Eclipse is the DJ for this show (and was djing for the show for quite a while around this time). No special guest. Just a whole lot of really dope records and Bobbito and Lord Sear rambling on about somebody's sneakers. I even uploaded it on two different servers. Enjoy!

Niiiice. Stretch n Bobbito show rips always appreciated.
Since you seem to be around 97 in your tape collection:
There was a night in either 97 or very early 98 where Lord Digga was the guest again.
He was rolling dolo with a DAT of his own beats. It was pretty great, if you're a Digga fan, even if not.
If you got that one, it would be mad appreciated.

Regardless, thanks for sharing these shows and this blog is going straight to my google reader to be followed.

Thanks.
peace.

i unfortunately don't have that show and honestly have never heard it. i was pretty reliant on fat beats for my stretch tapes as i was living in san diego at the time and that was pretty much our only way of getting our hands on these shows.

i'll also be upping an old cold crush brothers live at harlem world back in the early 80s tape that i bought off of kool herc himself a long time ago.

much more to come.

Thanks for the quick response, red dirt. If I finally find another copy of that show I mentioned, I'll drop a link here for you.

Thanks for sharing what you have, it's really highly appreciated.

And yeah, even though I taped on the reg, I still bought a few tapes from Fat Beats in NYC back then. I remember I had one that looked just ike the pic you posted, except it said "The Space Shuttle Show" on it. And I believe it was from somewhere in 95. Maybe either July or December. All I remember is there was much Kool Keith/Sir Menelik shit on there. It's all prbably been released by now, but never know.

That Cold Crush tape sounds dope, my fam. Def gonna keep checkin this blog here. Thanks again.
peace
