This is what is missing in today's Hip Hop on so many levels - a go go charged vaudevillian anthem about her DJ, and how they're better than you, proving their point with show tunes and Bugs Bunny samples!
Produced by Full Force
Here Lou talks about "Basketball", "Roxanne, Roxanne", "I Wonder If I Take You Home", and jheri curls.
"You know sometimes people act like Full Force was the only ones wearing jheri curls, but everybody was wearing it. But we stood out because, you know, we were FLEXIN'!"
In part 2 Lou talks about making the movie House Party and talks shit about today's R&B.
"If you're gonna fit it in, then you gotta STICK IT IN!"
In the conclusion of the interview Jarrell breaks it down and connects the dots at the same time.
"So you guys were doing the Hip Hop and R&B thing before Teddy and pretty much laid the ground work for what Teddy did some years later with Keith Sweat with Make It Last Forever."
Make It Last Forever contained a song called "I Want Her", which pretty much spawned this, and where would the career of many Hip Hop and R&B artists today be had Full Force and/or New Jack Swing never existed?
